of El Paso

The Purple Pages of El Paso started as a project of the City of El Paso Department of General Health HIV Prevention Program’s Collective Mobilization LGBTQ Core Team, the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Department of General Health Sciences, and our collective partner to address the lack of a comprehensive list of LGBTQ-friendly health care and social services providers and developed the framework for The Purple Pages of El Paso. At this time the Purple Pages is run by El Paso’s Only LGBTQ Community Center, the Borderland Rainbow Center. To learn more you can contact by clicking below.

El Paso is the sixth largest city in Texas and right on the Joined States-Mexico border. My lover and I had previously been to Dallas and Houston, but El Paso had quite a diverse vibe to it and an obvious Mexican power. We had a fantastic time exploring this singular spot just past the state of New Mexico, which we drove through on our way from Arizona!

You can see the first video of our trip (above) which includes the Hotel Indigo El Paso Downtown, GeoBetty Mine Shaft Tour, lunch at Tabla, Scenic Drive, and dinner at Mesa Street Grill.

The second video (below) includes the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel El Paso Downtown, The Downtown Art and Farmers Market, lunch at Los Bandidos de Carlos and Mickey’s (Mexican Food Restaurant & Cantina), El Paso Mission Trail, and dinner at Anson
