For 26 years now, the largest Dutch Gay film festival takes place in Amsterdam every Protest under the name “Roze Filmdagen“, meaning Pink Clip Days. The queer People will be able to watch an extensive selection of international films, documentaries, and short films. Furthermore, on the 25th anniversary of the queer clip festival, all the films have something in common: they address queer tradition, romantic comedies, provocative documentaries and everything in between. As comes to a seal, the enthralling new biopic, “Whitney Huston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” features a significant storyline about the singer’s (Naomi Ackie) relationship with Robyn Crawford (Nafessa Williams). It also references Clive Davis’ (Stanley Tucci) sexuality. It is one many notable films featuring LGBTQ characters to grace screens this year.
Perhaps the most financially prosperous film with queer content in was “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” which featured a lesbian daughter (Stephanie Hsu) and even a sequence featuring actor Michelle Yeoh coupling up with Jamie Lee Curtis.
But audiences mostly stayed away from seeing filmsin theaters. “Bros” generated more buzz about its failure at the box office than it did about organism an amusing comedy about two white cis same-sex attracted men finding love. “Spoiler Alert” earlier this month, also depicted white cis gay men in treasure battling cancer. Even “The Inspection,” and outstanding drama about a Black queer homeless young man entering boot camp, struggled to find an audience.
