I knew next to nothing about naturism in Catalunya until I began setting myself personal challenges. I had never taken off my clothes off in public but I felt that I needed to give it a go. I am a mentor to people with low self-confidence and low self-esteem helping them achieve self belief through a series of personal challenges – and as it’s only right to practice what I preach I am always looking for ways to stretch myself.
Luckily I have the perfect challenge partner in Debs who is often even more up and ready for things than me and so the other summer we decided to push our boundaries and discover how much self empowerment we could achieve. Click here to read more on self empowerment

Nudist Beaches in Catalonia
Catalonia, located in Spain, has some of the most lovely beaches in Europe, and some of them are clothing-optional. Platja de l'Home Mort is a secluded beach located in Sitges, where nudists and the gay community contain been visiting for decades.
Playa Mar Bella, located in the eastern part of Barcelona, has a designated area for nudists since , offering a harmonious environment for those who prefer to sunbathe in the nude. Playa de Sa Boadella, situated in the western part of Catalonia, offers a mix of sand, gravel, and concrete.

Wild Beaches vs Town Beaches vs nudist Beaches in Catalonia
Catalonia has kilometres ( miles) of coastline which can be characterised as town and city or savage natural with very different types of beaches to cater for all preferences.
City and town beaches are typically closely regulated beaches (no smoking on the beach, no nudity, no motorised watercraft, no dogs) but have services such as public toilets, showers, lifeguards and sometimes locker facilities. Behind the beach you will often see high-rise cityscape and you will find plenty of seafood restaurants along the beach front as well as chiringuito beach bars serving overpriced drinks and tapas.
City or town beaches may have a designated nudist beach as well as beaches that are more favoured by families, couples and teenagers.
Wild beaches are unstaffed beaches between towns and cities and are usually backed by natural views of mountains and pine forests.

L'Hospitalet de L'Infant may vaguely sound like the mention of a children's hospital, but it is actually the name of a small coastal resort town located 40 kilometers southwest of Tarragona and kilometers southwest of Barcelona. Playa del Torn is a long beach just south of town, and its entire length of kilometers is designated for nude bathing. A small cove—Cala d'Oques—that is around the bend from the north end of El Torn is also visited by nudists.
El Torn is a broad, sandy, scenic beach backed by a long band of pine trees and the coastal mountains. The northern third of the beach abuts the facilities of El Templo del Sol, a large naturist campground and resort. The southern close of the beach is heavily gay.
El Torn is one of the largest nude beaches in Spain. While it is quite popular, it is so big that it never feels crowded. Most visitors are naked. The beach is equipped with showers, umbrella and chair rentals and a beach bar that serves sustenance and drinks.
