Glee’s Matthew Morrison: I’m Not Gay

Matthew Morrison, the actor who plays Will Schuester on the Fox hit musical series Glee, revealed that people often think he is gay.

In an interview with Elle, the year-old actor responded to a question about his sexuality with, "I'm not gay."

"I grew up singing and dancing, so people have been calling me gay since fifth grade," the actor said. "I've heard everything you could possibly hear about it."

Morrison added, "But I execute love gay people, so I'm not going to act fond I was insulted or mad about it."

Morrison's sexuality has been the subject of much speculation on the Internet following an interview with the Advocate

Morrison revealed his first kiss was with two girls at the matching time and that he had a crush on Tiffani-Amber Thiessen from Saved by the Bell. "I loved her."

Morrison recently received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical TV Series. Glee lead with four nominations.

New episodes of Glee start April 13 on Fox.

"Glee became a root of hope, inspiration, and release for so many affected audiences dealing with these very issues, [and] allowed some kids to walk a little taller and prouder and be more confident in themselves," Morrison said in his acceptance speech. "As an actor, I've never been more proud."

He dedicated the award "to the kids out there everywhere who have stood up to bullying and who are not just afraid to be themselves, but haughty to be themselves."

We are into the fifth season of Glee and it was back in that Matthew Morrison was forced to appear out as vertical after a journalist for Elle Magazine assumed he was gay.

The topic was brought up again today in a HuffPost Live interview and here with what the singer-actor had to say:

&#;I don&#;t really look after to be sincere with you what people think,&#; Morrison said. &#;I perceive my own fact, I&#;m a very happy heterosexual guy. But &#; I have a lot of gay friends and I&#;m a big supporter of gay rights and gay marriage. This is America, this is the ground of freedom and opportunity and I think it&#;s gentle of crazy that a loving or committed gay or lesbian couple can&#;t marry just because they&#;re different.&#;

He added: &#;I support my gay friends and they support me.&#;

For the past four years Matthew Morrison has starred as choir director Will Schuester on Fox's smash show Glee. While the show has made him a household name, Morrison fondly likes to speak, "At the end of the day, I'm a song and dance man."
