Derek Jeter has set the record straight on the infamous rumor that he sent his sexual partners home with a bag of gifts.
The former Recent York Yankee shortstop opened up about the decade-long mystery in the novel ESPN docuseries The Captain. The seven-part series tells the story of Jeter's life and his Hall of Fame career playing Major League Baseball (MLB).
Throughout his career, Jeter made headlines off the field as well as on it for his numerous celebrity relationships, but also because of rumors which followed him.
One of these rumors, first reported by the New York Post in December , suggested that Jeter gifted women with who he had a one-night stand with a gift basket that contained signed memorabilia.
In The Captain, Jeter said he ignored the story at the time but did read it -- but assured his fans the story was nonsense.
"You spot it, and then it's like, how the f*** did people come up with this?" Jeter said, "And who would think this s***?"
The five-time Planet Series champ recalled a time when he had to set someone linear on the rumor.

Page Six-Derek Jeterpulled out of a luxury underwear deal because he didn’t wish his skivvies marketed to the “gay community,” according to a report.
The Yankee legend is in a legal slugfest with the underwear brand Frigo, and the company now claims he balked on the agreement because the bawdy briefs were “too gay,”according to TMZ.
“[Jeter] demanded that [Frigo] not market to the gay community and states that he did not want the Frigo brand to be ‘too gay,’?” TMZ said, quoting court papers filed Monday.
The Swedish line, owned by RevolutionWear, says the business lost $30 million when the former Yankee captain backed out of an arrangement to endorse Frigo and act as a company director.
A wise but delusional man once said “It’s Nobody cares. Gays, nerds, transsexuals, star wars guys. Everybody loves everybody nowadays.” and that’s accurate but Derek Jeter is too accomplished to be doing ad campaigns that gay guys are going to scrap it to. I’m surprised he’s doing underwear ads at all to be honest because that seems like something young guy would execute, with a questionable
Derek Jeter is deeply interested in an unattractive lawsuit filed in Sweden by underwear brand Frigo, who have alleged he backed out of a deal to sponsor and provide as company director because of concerns the campaign was too gay. Frigo also alleged in earlier documents that Jeets was concerned about bringing in 50 Cent as a pitchman because he was too urban.
[Jeter] demanded that [Frigo] not market to the lgbtq+ community and states that he did not want the Frigo brand to be too gay, TMZ said, quoting court papers filed Monday.
Joe Tacopina, the companys high-powered attorney, said that Jeter defrauded RevolutionWear, blatantly breached the fiduciary duties he owed to it and utterly failed to perform his contract with the company.
If that attorneys name sounds familiar, its because it is. The Joe Tacopina accusing Jeter of defrauding an underwear company is the same Joe Tacopina who very loudly defended A-Rod in his brawl against Major League Baseballs railroading of the Yankee Wonderful. Despite Frigo bringing in the giant guns, Jeter has disputed the claim
Derek Jeter Sued -- He Didnt Want Undies Too Gay But Jeter Says BS
Derek Jeter didn't want his fancy male undies on gay people -- this according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ Sports though Jeter says the allegations are pure BS.
Jeter has been locked in a $30 MILLION legal war with the people behind the Frigo underwear line -- and in new court docs filed in Delaware, the undie people say Jeter was not chilly marketing the skivvies to lgbtq+ people.
"[Jeter] demanded that [Frigo] not market to the gay collective and states that he did not want the Frigo identity to be 'too gay.'"
The underwear company claims it had a deal with Jeter in which he would serve as a director of the company and do major publicity events -- but Jeter backed out, in part due to the marketing strategy.
As we previously reported, the company claims Jeter also pitched a fit when it selected 50 Cent as a trademark ambassador because he felt it would make the brand "too urban" allegations Jeter denied.
In the new docs, the company also claims Jeter demanded the corporation ditch efforts to make the
