Memphis Pride Parade rescheduled: Observe when it will roll along Beale Street

The 50th annual Memphis Pride Parade has been rescheduled for noon June 21 in the Beale Street Entertainment District.

An annual celebration of what organizers call "the vibrant spectrum of the Mid-South Gay family," the parade had been scheduled for June 7, but was canceled due to rainstorms with lightning.

The daylong festival that usually accompanies the march has been canceled until , however, due to various scheduling challenges, including the the difficulty of reassembling the vendors.

The Vincent Astor Collection, donated by Astor in , is a conclusion of material Astor spent his experience collecting and covers a range of themes: Pageants and Clubs, Religious Organizations, Activist Coalitions, Government and Military Influence, AIDS-Related Materials, Pride Materials, Local Theater, and Oversized Posters relating to LGBTQ Life in the Mid-South. Within those themes are correspondence, newspaper articles, promotional posters, magazine articles, handwritten notes and photographs.

The Most Colorful Weekend of the Year! The annual Memphis Pride Fest Weekend is a four afternoon celebration showcasing the vibrant essence of Memphis and the Mid-South&#;s TLGBQ+ community. While there are no age restrictions for the open festival area or the parade, some Pride Fest events and areas of the park, like the RedZone and VIP Areas, do require you to be 18+ or 21+.

50 years of Pride in Memphis: See what's planned for Memphis Pride Fest Weekend

Put on by Mid-South Celebration, the organization notes that the events — which run June — will not only reflect on the progress made since the first Memphis Lgbtq+ fest gathering in , but will also “acknowledge the ongoing challenges faced by LGBTQ+ people, particularly trans person and Latinx communities, under increasing political hostility.”
